Lamborghini Shipped 3,815 supercars in 2017

Lamborghini had shipped 3,815 supercars in 2017, selling 358 (+10.3%) more units than in 2016 (3,457).   America sold 1,338 units (35.1%), Asia sold 1,000 units (26.2%) while 1,477 units (38.7%) was sold in Europe, Middle East & Africa.   Since 2010, the number of units sold by Lamborghini had grown by 293%, from only 1,302 units to a record 3,815 in 2017.

The Italian supercar maker from Sant’Agata Bolognese reported revenue of Euro 1.009 billion in 2017, a 11.3% increased from Euro 906 million in 2016.  V12 Lamborghini Aventador sales grew by 6% from 1,104 to 1,173 units while V10 model Lamborghini Huracán sales grew by 12% from 2,353 to 2,642 units.

Lamborghini Urus – The First Super-SUV Priced at $200,000

Lamborghini has launched the first Super Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), Lamborghini Urus – priced at around $200,000.  The Lamborghini Urus is a luxury SUV and is powered with a 4.0 liter V8 twin-turbo engine, that accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 305 km/h.

Continuing the naming of cars tradition at Lamborghini, the name Urus is derived from the world of bulls.  The Urus, also known as Aurochs, is one of the large, wild ancestors of domestic cattle. The Spanish fighting bull, as bred for the past 500 years, is still very close to the Urus in its appearance.

Price and market delivery

The first customers will take delivery of the new Lamborghini Urus in Spring 2018 at suggested retail prices as follows:

  • Europe: EUR 171,429.00 (suggested retail price, taxes excluded)
  • Italy: EUR 168,852.00 (suggested retail price, taxes excluded)
  • UK: GBP 131,500.00 (suggested retail price, taxes excluded)
  • USA: USD 200,000.00 (suggested retail price, VAT/GST excluded)
  • China: RMB 3,130,000.00 (suggested retail price, taxes included)
  • Japan: YEN 25,740,000.00 (suggested retail price, taxes excluded)

Lamborghini’s Newest Supercar

Lamborghini recently unveiled its much anticipated supercan, Huracan Performante at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The Huracan Performante made the headlines by completing Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife race track in just 6 minutes and 52.01 seconds. The lap times is a new production car record which makes its five seconds faster than the Porsche 918 Spyder.

The sports car is equipped with a V10 engine, can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles in 2.9 seconds and reaches top speed of nearly 202 miles per hour. The Huracan Performante will be delivered to its first customers this summer.

Ultra Rare Lamborghini Recalled

The owners of Lamborghini Venenos, an ultra rare supercar which cost $4 million dollars onwards will be receiving news that their cars are being recalled. The recall includes three Venenos hardtops which was sold about $4 million each and another nine Veneno Roadsters originally listed at $4.5 million.

The ultra rare Venenos have increased in value since they were built. Lamborghini had said in 2013 that it would only sell three. In March 2016, Automobile Magazine had indicated one of them was up for sale for $11.1 million.
