VietJet Plans to be First Vietnamese Company to List Shares on Overseas Stock Exchange
VietJet could become the first Vietnamese company to list its shares on a stock exchange overseas. The carrier which controls more than 40% of Vietnam’s domestic airline market is seeking for more funds after planning to purchase more aircrafts. The company is considering stock exchanges in New York, London, Hong Kong and Singapore.

VietJet’s founder and CEO Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao made her first million dollars at age 21 selling fax machines and latex rubber. Almost a quarter of a century later, the executive became Southeast Asia’s first self-made woman billionaire with the listing of VietJet in Vietnam.
Currently, the airline operates a route network covering destinations nation-wide and more than 30 regional destinations in Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, China, Japan, Hong Kong and Myanmar. It is operating a fleet of A320s and A321s with average age of 3.3 years old. For 5 years of taking off and serving our customers, Vietjet has been honoured with 32 domestic awards and 9 significant international awards. The airline was named as one of the Top 500 Brands in Asia 2016 and “The Best Asian Low Cost Carrier” at the TTG Travel Awards 2015, “The most favourite carrier in Vietnam” by the Economic Times.
The carrier was awarded “Vietnam’s best place to work” in consecutive years and “the Best Employer Brand Asia Awards 2016”
